Shuttle loom:

1. Handwork: low efficiency, narrow width, used to make scarves

2. Shuttle loom: mechanical weft insertion (shuttle)

Advantages: the width can be 150-170, and the speed is faster than manual

Disadvantages: it will catch the shuttle (the shuttle is in the middle due to the small force) and cause the warp to be broken. The color is dark in places with high tension; light in places with low tension.

The risk is high and the quality is degraded.

Application: making real silk fabrics, the width is 140 114 90 etc.

Shuttleless Loom

1. Rapier loom: the weft-feeding sword and the weft-joining machine meet in the middle

The rapier loom (3.6m-4.5m) is suitable for home textiles, cotton, thick, extra-wide fabrics. The raw material is suitable for making coarse ones.

2. Water jet loom: drive the weft with water

Suitable for chemical fiber, long fiber (except rayon)

3. Air jet loom: use airflow to drive the weft

It is suitable for making chemical fiber, natural fiber, interwoven, high-density fabric.
